A number of people who believe in Indian astrology refuse to believe the efficacy of the remedial measures it offers.

Shah Rukh Khan

Today we look at the horoscope of Shahrukh Khan aka “SRK” or “King Khan”. Self proclaimed No.1 some might say but a leading force in the Hindi Film industry nevertheless.

SRK grew up in the neighbourhood of Rajendra Nagar, New Delhi studied at St. Columbus school and graduated in Economics from Hansraj College. Although he didn’t have the privilege of a trophy degree from a foreign university like many star sons, it is fair to call SRK well educated in the true sense of it.  Strong 4th and 5th houses provide clear indications of that.

SRK hails from what I would call an upper middle class if not a rich background. His father was a lawyer / businessman and his mother went to Oxford, not a middle class family by my standards certainly. As per my readings, hardship started to set in for SRK from the age of 10 (in the Maha Dasa of Rahu). SRK has a very complex chart and this is certainly one where there is more than what meets the eye. The position of Rahu in the 10th house in the sign of Taurus is great for his career as it gives him the versatility he is so famous for but being a default malefic gave him a lot of grief between 1974 – 1991. Let’s not forget this was the time when he sadly lost his parents (father in 1981 and mother in 1991). I believe this tough time in Rahu’s Mahadasa shaped his personality into this highly self driven and motivated character that he is today. SRK made his television debut in the hit TV serial Fauji in 1988 which was also in the Mahadasa of Rahu.

1991 was a strange year for SRK, the same year when he lost his mother and was married.  To me, SRK’s wife Gauri is his lady luck and this is evident from an extremely strong Saturn in the 7th house (house of marriage) which is positively aspected by Jupiter. No wonder his life took a U turn after his marriage in Oct 1991, post which he moved to Mumbai and got his first movie break in Deewana (released in June 1992) which was a big hit. From 1991 to 2005 SRK was under the Mahadasa of Jupiter. Jupiter also called the planet of prosperity is extremely well placed in SRK’s chart in his 11th house, which amongst other things is the house of gains and powerful friends (one Karan Johar comes to mind). SRK’s 11th house is further strengthened by the beneficial aspect of Venus which in itself is very key to the film industry as it associated with beauty and all that glitters. Needless to say, this period saw a meteoric rise in the great Khan’s success, fame / fortune and he established himself as some would say the “Badshah of Bollywood”.

 Luckily for SRK the period from 2008 – 2027 will be in the Mahadasa of Saturn which as I mentioned earlier is very well placed in his chart. This means he will continue to succeed in his business ventures and film projects. However, unlike the period of Jupiter success will not be unidirectional. No matter how well placed he is, Shani Dev will ensure “King Khan” comes down to mother earth every once in a while and earns every bit of his success. There will be delays in expected results, minor blips in career but he will continue have the love and affection of the masses which will assure his Superstar status.

Enough sugar talk about the icon, now to some negatives in his chart. A debilitated Sun in Libra placed in the 3rd house (house of brothers and sisters) means he will always worry on account of his siblings. A weak Sun ( which stands for the father, seniors and authority) also means that he should avoid getting into ego tussles with his seniors and his peer group (e.g. Amitabh Bachan and Salman / Amir Khan) as no good will come out of it and his public image may get tarnished in the process. I have read on some sites that a debilitated Sun is a good thing in SRK’s chart as it is a NeechBhang Rajyog. This is partially true but does not fully eliminate the negative influence of Sun which could mean the individual is overly shy, lacks belief at times while portraying an overconfident exterior. Die hard SRK fans may find it hard to believe, but a weak Sun definitely takes its toll and is one of the missing links in his life. Well nobody is perfect my friends.
